until Cannonball I wouldn't even consider playing a horn that was made
after the 60's. My main reason for this was simple.
Most of the companies that make saxophones today mass produce them
and seem more interested in quantity than quality.
For this reason many of these horns, to me, lack character.
One thing about the older horns was that most of them had character.

have played Keilwerth horns for the last 22 years and was always very satisfied
with the results I got from those instruments. I have also tried everything
on the market, new and old, not because I was looking for a new horn but
because I wanted to keep up on what was out there.

I have to say, I never thought I would find a better horn for what
